Holistic Health Assessment or Health MOT is an approach to evaluating an individual’s well-being that takes into consideration multiple aspects of their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. It involves looking at the person as a whole rather than just focusing on isolated symptoms or conditions. A holistic health assessment typically involves gathering information about an individual’s medical history, lifestyle, diet, exercise routine, stress levels, sleep patterns, emotional state, social support, and other relevant factors. It aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the person’s overall health and identify any imbalances or areas that may require attention in order to achieve optimal well-being.

Here are some key components that may be included in a holistic health assessment:

  1. Medical history: Gathering information about the person’s past and current medical conditions, medications, surgeries, and allergies.
  2. Lifestyle and habits: Assessing the person’s lifestyle choices, such as diet, exercise, sleep patterns, tobacco and alcohol use, and other health-related behaviours.
  3. Emotional and mental health: Evaluating the person’s emotional well-being, stress levels, coping mechanisms, and mental health history, including any symptoms of anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions.
  4. Social support: Assessing the quality of the person’s social relationships, including family, friends, and community connections, as social support plays a crucial role in overall health and well-being.
  5. Environmental factors: Evaluating the person’s living and working environment for potential health hazards, such as exposure to toxins, pollution, or other environmental factors that may impact health.
  6. Spiritual health: Considering the person’s beliefs, values, and practices related to spirituality or religion, as these can influence overall well-being.
  7. Body systems: Assessing the functioning of various body systems, such as cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, immune, and others, to identify any potential imbalances or areas of concern.
  8. Prevention and health promotion: Identifying opportunities for health promotion and disease prevention through education, lifestyle changes, and other preventive measures.

Based on the findings of a holistic health assessment, a personalized plan may be developed to address any identified imbalances and promote optimal health and well-being. This may include recommendations for lifestyle changes, stress management techniques, dietary modifications, exercise routines, emotional support, and other interventions that address the person’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. It’s important to note that holistic health assessment should be carried out by qualified healthcare professionals trained in integrative or holistic approaches to care.

By tackling our health head-on and holistically, we can certainly be a more productive, happier and healthier nation – and it is the responsibility of all of us to ensure this, employers and employees alike. We don’t need to be filling our bodies with medication to survive and thrive. Preventative holistic healthcare is the medicine of the future. When you feel good, everything else benefits too. You’re more alert, engaged and energetic; you also feel more positive about yourself.

Healthcare isn’t just about looking at the symptoms and masking these with drugs as much as medicine can seem. Instead, it’s about getting to the root of the cause and finding ways of eradicating this holistically instead of understanding that every individual is different. So many areas of our life feed into our health, many of which we don’t fully recognise or understand until our health is properly broken down in this way.

To get started with servicing your body, just like you would your car, book your free 30-minute consultation.

Bioresonance is a primarily German technology that has been created and designed to regulate the body’s disturbed energy patterns and to fine-tune them to healthy harmonic frequencies that leads to vibrant health.

The Theory

Every cell and every organ in the body has an electromagnetic resonance and frequency pattern in the form of wavelengths. Cells communicate with each other and exchange information. Brain cells and neurotransmitters are typical examples of this with neurons giving out information constantly throughout our lifetime

Toxins

Substantial research has been carried out at Salford University and discovered that therapeutic impulses that go into resonance with the body can have an effect even after a very short period. Professor Dr W R Adey from the University of California in his research confirmed these same principles Each allergen, pathological microbes and environmental toxins all put stress on the human defence system. Bioresonance Therapy is the ideal therapy for not only cancelling out these dis-harmonic pathological frequencies but amplifying the healthy harmonic frequencies to restore normal function throughout the body.

Pathological toxins - Stress

What happens with treatment?

Bioresonance is a non-invasive testing and treatment therapy where the patient holds various hand electrodes connected to the device that checks for dis-harmonic frequencies throughout the body. Testing is non-invasive and carried out on the body’s acupuncture meridians.

Toxins

Pathological toxins in the form of allergies, metals, chemicals, viruses, parasites and fungi and stress-induced radiation all interrupt the communication between cells allowing physical dysfunction and illness.

Every human being on this wonderful planet has a body made up of 60% – 70% water.  Water has a vital role to pay in keeping us healthy and well, and the lack of it can lead to significant issues.

Why do we need water?

Water is used in our cells, tissues and organs to help regulate our temperature and maintain our function.

Water is used by our kidneys and liver to flush out waste products.  If we have sufficient water, we can remove our waste products through perspiration and urination. We lose water through breathing, digestion and sweating.

What happens if we don’t have enough water?

If you don’t have enough water in your body you may get dehydration. This is particularly likely if you are in hot weather, strenuously exercising, have been vomiting or had diarrhoea or are breathing through your mouth most of the time.

How can you tell if you’re dehydrated?

You can tell if you’re dehydrated by checking the colour of your urine.

Urochrome is produced by the body when it breaks down the protein that carries oxygen to your red blood cells.  Urochrome has a yellow pigment so you want your urine to be a light yellow to deep amber colour.

  • If your urine is darker than deep amber then you need to drink more water. Brown colour urine could indicate bile build-up, an indicator of liver issues.  Cloudy urine can be a symptom of a UTI or kidney issues, as well as some other diseases.
  • Did you know that if your urine is always clear that means you are over hydrated so your electrolytes may be out of balance?
  • If your urine is pink or red all the time, please contact your GP.
  • Orange urine can be a symptom of dehydration, infection or liver issues.

You can also tell that you may be dehydrated as you may feel thirsty, have a dry mouth and eyes, feel dizzy, tired and have a headache. As you get more dehydrated you’ll have lower blood pressure and a weakened pulse and may feel lethargic and even confused. You may also find that your stools are harder, and you feel constipated.

It’s obviously important to keep hydrated.  But in this world of multiple different waters, which one should you choose?

What types of water are they?

We are all familiar with turning on the tap and water coming out.  But did you know there are a few other types of water as well?

Raw water

As the name suggests, raw water has not been treated, filtered or processed. Much loved by a subset of Silicon Valley techies, and with a price tag that comes with this target market, raw water drinking has become a movement.

People who have joined this move to drinking raw water believe that it’s a more natural alternative to other waters and that it preserves minerals and compounds which would otherwise apparently be lost.  They think it contains more probiotics and minerals than tap water which can help with immune function, mental health and nutrient digestion, as well as having a higher pH than regular water. This means they believe it’s a natural alternative to alkaline water which research has found could help support blood circulation, decrease bone loss and prevent acid reflux.

They also believe it to be free from fluoride and chlorine. These are often added to drinking water as fluoride is promoted as being good for your teeth. However, some people think it can negatively impact bone health, cancer development, cognitive development and thyroid function.

It’s important to note that raw water also contains strains of bad bacteria and can contain contaminants.  These strains of toxins and bacteria can cause illness such as typhoid, cholera and dysentery, all of which are best avoided.  Animal waste, pollutants and heavy metals can also all be found in raw water.

Distilled water

Some people choose to drink distilled water. This has a flatter and less flavourful taste than tap and bottled water.  Distilled water is made by boiling water and condensing the collected steam back into a liquid. This removes impurities and minerals from the water. Distilled water has no minerals left in it, and it is advisable to either add minerals to the water or get an adequate amount from your diet and supplementation.

Filtered water

Again, as the name suggests, filtered water has been run through a filter. This means impurities are removed and the taste is improved.

There are several different methods used to filter water, including:

  • Reverse osmosis water filters. With reverse osmosis, tap water is filtered to remove impurities, microorganisms and minerals. This then appears in the shop as bottled water, and features added trace amounts of minerals.
  • Infrared filters
  • Activated carbon filters
  • Ceramic filters

Mineral water

Mineral water comes from a mineral spring. Typically it contains minerals such as sulphur compounds and salt. You can get mineral water which is sparkling or still.

Alkaline water

Alkaline water is produced through electrolysis. This splits the water into hydrogen and oxygen to increase the pH of the final product. Some people believe that drinking alkaline water has many benefits including enhancing weight loss through boosted metabolism, slowing bone loss and reversing ageing.  It is also said to offer the body more minerals than tap water, including magnesium, sodium, potassium and calcium which all keep us healthy.

If you’re drinking alkaline water it’s important to remember that your body was not created to live in a constant alkaline or acidic state. Therefore, it’s always best to speak to your trusted health consultant, rather than salespeople, before you invest in any water filtration or/and water ioniser.

Hydrogen rich water

Hydrogen is not toxic, has no colour or smell and binds to other elements.   Hydrogen water is simply water which has had extra hydrogen molecules added to it before it’s packed into cans or pouches.

Some people believe that people can’t effectively absorb the hydrogen in plain water as it’s bound to oxygen, so the extra hydrogen in this water is more accessible to your body.

You can buy hydrogen water machines so you can make your own hydrogen water at home.

Magnetised water

Magnetised water is the term applied to water which has had its form altered to form a shape which looks like a hexagonal cluster.  This shape is believed to have similarities with water that’s not been affected by human processes and procedures which could suggest it is healthier than tap or filtered water.

According to structured water proponents, this type of water exists naturally in mountain springs, glacier melt and other untouched sources. Others believe that you can create your own magnetised water by putting normal water through a process called vortexing which magnetises it, or by exposing normal water to UV, infrared light, sunlight or storing it in gemstone water bottles.

People who think that structured water is beneficial speak of the following benefits:

  • Energy increasing
  • Improves concentration and memory
  • Helps stabilise blood sugar so promotes weight loss and maintenance
  • Encourages better sleep so supports a healthy immune system
  • Helps to detoxify the body, promoting good digestion and reducing constipation
  • Promotes longer life
  • Improves skin complexion and circulation

Can you have too much water?

Water intoxication or overdose can disrupt the electrolyte balance in your body. Symptoms include confusion, nausea, vomiting, fluid retention and even seizures.   A recent paper suggested that this can occur if you drink 3 – 4 litres or 0.8 – 1 gallons of water in a short amount of time.

What happens if we have the wrong type of water?

Choosing the right type of water and water filter is not a black and white decision, and there are some other issues you should bear in mind:

  • Firstly, if you’re thinking that tap water is good enough for you, please think again. With side effects from chlorine, toxins, heavy metals, hormones and medication residues it’s best avoided.
  • Following on from this, many filtration systems are not good enough to remove all the heavy metals, chlorine, fluoride and hormones from the water. These toxins may end up in your body and can manifest in various health problems which will depend on your own predispositions.
  • Most water filter systems, including leading brands, produce acidic water which may have an impact on your body’s alkaline and acidic balance. These may lead to degenerative conditions, especially if you are already sick.
  • If your water is over purified like with reverse osmosis and distillation water systems, it will strip out the minerals you need for your overall health and wellness.
  • When you chose a water ioniser system for alkaline/hydrogen water you run two risks. One risk is that the water is not purified enough. The other is that the quality of the device means you don’t know the correct PH levels – and having the wrong levels of acid and alkaline may lead to more harm than good.

Did you know that 150 million Europeans suffer from chronic allergic diseases, and 48% of them have more than one allergy?  Sounds like a lot doesn’t it? So, you’d be surprised to learn that only 2% of people who come to us with suspected food allergies actually have them.

Every day we discover more people who have been misdiagnosed.  They do NOT have allergies but are living with the following issues instead:

  • They are intolerant to foods
  • They are living with environmental toxins
  • They are allergic to chemicals or dust particles
  • They have a weak immune system
  • They have poor digestion

Food allergy or intolerance?

Allergic responses to food can range from experiencing minor symptoms to having a critical immune reaction which requires immediate medical attention.  Some symptoms of intolerance can replicate those of a cold, or even asthma, so it can be tricky to tell the difference between an allergy, a cold, food intolerance or a true food allergy. But there are stark differences – especially between food intolerances and true food allergies – which we cover below.

Research has shown that some factors mean that you are slightly more likely to have a food allergy or intolerance.   These include:

·      Being born by C-section delivery

·      Using antibiotics

·      Not being exposed to microbes in your early childhood

·      Having a high fat/low carb diet

·      Having a low immune system

·      Too much stress or exercise

What happens to your body when you are allergic to something you eat?

When you’re allergic to something you eat, your immune system thinks it is a threat to you so produces immunoglobulin antibodies to neutralise it.  It also releases chemicals including histamine to your bloodstream which may give you a range of symptoms immediately or within a few hours. The most severe symptom is an anaphylactic shock which can lead to death unless an EpiPen is used as soon as the symptoms arise.

What happens to your body if you are intolerant to something you eat?

A food intolerance is an abnormal but not allergic response to a food.

With intolerance, the immune system does not get involved and there are no antibodies or histamines released. Instead, your body has a tough time breaking down or digesting that food, ingredient or additive.  Reactions include abdominal pain, diarrhoea, bloating, constipation, cramping, and nausea.

If you are intolerant to something you eat, this could be as you are:

  • Allergic to food additives, colours or sulphites
  • Lacking the correct enzyme for breaking down specific foods – e.g. lactose intolerance
  • Sensitive to chemicals like caffeine
  • Sensitive to toxins in some raw legumes
  • Experiencing psychological influences including stress and aversion to foods
  • Living with irritable bowel syndrome
  • Living with Coeliac disease

How to tell the difference between a food intolerance and a true allergy

With an allergy, you won’t have a fever and your symptoms will go on for far longer.  You may also just have allergic reactions at some times during the day, or while you’re doing certain activities. If you wake up feeling congested, you may be allergic to dust mites. Feeling allergic during your morning wake up walk? That may be due to pollen.  Clear watery mucus production is also likely to be allergies rather than a cold.

If you have a true food allergy, your body will produce an immune response.  A food intolerance will produce symptoms, but your immune system will not be involved.

The most common foods related to allergies and intolerances

  • Peanuts
  • Tree nuts
  • Fish
  • Shellfish
  • Soy
  • Wheat
  • Milk
  • Eggs

You cannot have “just a taste” of something to which you are truly allergic.  In fact, 1/250th of a peanut is enough to trigger a reaction in some people.

The foods which people are most likely to be intolerant to are:

  • Lactose
  • Gluten
  • Preservatives
  • Additives
  • Tyramine (common in cured meats, aged cheeses and smoked fish)

Food intolerances are significantly more common than allergies.

Could it be allergic asthma or a cold?

Colds can cause a fever, but your symptoms – runny nose, sore throat, watering eyes, sneezing and coughing – will clear up in 14 days or fewer.   Colds cause symptoms 24/7 and are likely to come with a thick green mucus.

With allergic asthma, the triggers which provoke your allergies (like pollen or cats) may also set off asthma.  Sometimes food allergies can also have the same effect.

With allergic asthma, you get the typical food allergy symptoms (which may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, a rash, hives etc) followed by wheezing and coughing. At this stage, you can have anaphylaxis – a swelling of the throat, and an inability to breathe.

Did you know that eating junk food can make it more likely that you’ll get asthma and allergies?  Some preservatives can also trigger asthma attacks – including sulphites which you can find in food including wine, dried fruits and shrimp.

What can offer short and long term relief from food allergies and intolerances?

  • Use a neti pot
  • Avoid sugars and grains
  • Increase intake of animal-based omega-3 fats
  • Reduce your intake of omega-6 fats
  • Increase your intake of Vitamin C and Vitamin D
  • Eat more fermented vegetables or probiotics
  • Avoid pasteurised milk products
  • Use hot peppers as natural decongestant
  • Try so-called natural antihistamines including apples, berries, red grapes, red onions and capers
  • Apply eucalyptus oil to a cotton ball and sniff it, or put some in your bath
  • Increase your body’s oxygenation with techniques like Breathing Retraining

Long term results can only be achieved by strengthening the immune system through lifestyle changes, increased body oxygenation, detoxing and rebuilding the gut under the supervision of a health professional.

Can improving your gut health help your allergies and intolerances?

Did you know that your gut microflora will be different if you have a food allergy?

People with food allergies seem to have interaction between bacteria in their intestinal system, including Bacteroides, Enterobacteria, Bifidobacterial and Lactobacilli. These somehow seem to train the body to tolerate food triggers.  It therefore stands to reason that if you don’t have these bacteria, you’ll be less likely to be able to tolerate these triggers.

Improving your gut health can help your allergies and intolerances. Check out this blog to find out more.

It’s March, so that means it’s the month of National Bed Day and National Sleep Day.

This is the perfect time to ask yourself: “Am I waking up refreshed?” and, “If not, why not?”.

We all know that a good night’s sleep is vital to our mental and physical health, and really boosts our quality of life.  Indeed, research has shown that most adults need around eight hours’ sleep a night to feel fully rested.

But did you know that as well as ensuring you are awake and alert, good sleep can help repair your blood vessels and heart, help maintain a healthy weight and control your sugar levels and help keep your hormones balanced?

It also makes your brain work as well as it can, supports you in remembering things, solving problems and making decisions.  Lastly, it performs a valuable role in protecting you against mood swings, depression and stress.

If you get fewer than six hours’ sleep on just one night it will prevent you from thinking clearly the next day.  It’s clear that if you suffer from chronic sleep deprivation then your mental and physical health will not be at optimum strength, so it’s important to take steps to prioritise your sleep.

“Kostas has been instrumental in helping me and my family to minimise electromagnetic exposure at home and to overcome geopathic stress. He has been in my home taking various measures and based on them suggesting specific action steps. After the application of his suggestions, all of us sleep much better and stress levels have decreased.” – Vasileios Chantziaras, Performance coach

Have you tried all these steps to sleep better?

  • Before you go to sleep, make sure that your bedroom is totally dark. You can use a blackout blind or curtains or can even use an eye This helps with the production of melatonin which reduces inflammation and supports immunity.
  • Check to see that the temperature in your room is cool. The usual recommendation is between 16-18° C (60-65° F). If you’re too hot or cold you won’t sleep well. Leaving the window slightly open during the night is a good idea to regulate temperature and breath fresh air.
  • Artificial light disrupts your hormones and sleep. When it’s time to go to sleep make sure you can’t see any LED displays and try to have at least an hour without your phone before you go to sleep
  • Caffeine/coffee, especially from 14:00 onwards, can be overstimulating and keep you awake when you’d rather be asleep.
  • Alcohol, eating late at night and medication side effects can affect your slee
  • Getting natural light in the morning is vital to helping you sleep later in the day. Try and get at least 10 – 15 minutes of morning sunlight, with 30 – 60 minutes in the middle of the day.

If you’ve tried all the steps above and you’re still struggling to get enough sleep and feel rested, it may be that electropollution or geopathic stress are damaging your sleep.

What are geopathic stress and electropollution?

Geopathic stress rests on the idea that the Earth gives off a certain energy vibration that’s disrupted by underground features. Electropollution means the introduction of toxic electrical frequencies into our environment which may have an effect on our bodies.

As the World Health Organisation says, “Electromagnetic fields (EMF) of all frequencies represent one of the most common and fastest growing environmental influences, about which anxiety and speculation are spreading. All populations are now exposed to varying degrees of EMF, and the levels will continue to increase as technology advances.”

These days we know that GMS mobile masts, pylons, UMTS masts, Wi-Fi, local substations and broadband are all around us. Spending a lot of time with this equipment in and near your home means the weak electromagnetic fields can put stress on your body which can affect your general wellness levels and sleep.

Are you experiencing any of these issues?

  • Do you have regular health issues including headaches, aches and pains or tiredness?
  • Are there lots of emotional problems in your household?
  • Do you have frequent insomnia, mood swings, low energy or depression?

If so, you could benefit from our Healthy Home Survey which will help you restore the balance between nature, your home and yourself.

“I feel less tired… not sure if it is the sleep or the harmony in the flat, but I hope it stays like this. Thanks, once again.” – Nola B

What is Geopathic Stress?

geopathic stress definition

Face this; when you are feeling stressed, you probably blame the outside circumstances or even other people’s behavior for your stress anxiety depression symptoms. But in most of the time you might overlook a significant factor. Yes, we are talking about the Geopathic Stress. For the uninitiated, Geopathic stress is typically caused by subterranean running water, underground plateaus or fault lines, which distort the natural vibrations of the earth. There is no secret that Electromagnetic Radiation affects our health, wellbeing and energy levels. These distortions cause harm to the living organisms.

How to tell if you are suffering from Geopathic Stress

  • Some plants love the ultimate effects of electromagnetic radiation and Geopathic Stress. These include ivy, mushrooms, mistletoe, bindweed, foxgloves, nettles, docks, and medicinal herbs. Fruit trees and many plants will suffer. Twisted or stunted growth and gaps in hedges may be clues.
  • Ants, bees, wasps, parasites, bacteria, viruses and compost heaps thrive.
  • Cats, owls, slugs and snails are attracted to Geopathic Stress. A cat’s favourite sleeping place (in the absence of an obvious place of warmth) is often on a Geopathic Stress line.
  • Lawns will often have bare patches, moss, silver weed and fungi, while vegetable gardens may have stunted growth.
  • Other clues include clutter, building deterioration (cracks in glass, brick and plasterwork). Electrical appliances may often breakdown. Food such as fruit and vegetables, cheese, jam and even photographic film will all spoil quickly when stored on a Geopathic Stress line.
  • Disputes with neighbours may be another problem which can be traced to a line of Geopathic Stress flowing from the aggressive neighbour to the victim. Geopathic Stress can make a house difficult to sell and haunting including poltergeist activity can often be associated with negative earth energies.

Needless to say, the sheer effects of electromagnetic radiation on human are bad so it’s time to be proactive. Use the above information as a base for some detective work. Look around your home and garden to see if you can find any tell tale signs. Think about the time you moved into your home, did you life, health or luck start to change?

We offer EMF/ Dirty Electricity and Geopathic Stress Survey for house or office needs!

The most important step towards a health living that none told you about?

If you have health concerns about overhead power lines, mobile phone masts or about the invisible EMFs of your electrical appliances, Geoptahic stress, dirty electricity and how safe is the place where you sleep,  then this may be for you….EMF & Geopathic Stress Survey 300x300

Are you suffering from geopathic stress and/or electromagnetic radiation (EMR pollution/ ‘electro smog’)?

This is an important question as they have been found to be contributing to many psychological conditions, headaches, dizziness, sleeplessness, fatigue, depression and even serious and long-term illnesses.

Our bodies operate according to very complex electrochemical processes. The environment in which we live these days is full of electromagnetic frequencies which can be harmful to our bodies. The effects of electromagnetic radiation and Geopathic stress lower the immune system and have been found to contribute to stress anxiety depression symptoms, serious and persistent illnesses and conditions such as cancer, ME/ fatigue, depression, difficulty conceiving, miscarriages,  insomnia, learning difficulties and psychological disorders.

Infertility rates are rising and many charities concerned with conception issues are now recommending that couples who have been trying for a baby should check their homes for both Geopathic,  electromagnetic stress and also for electromagnetic sensitivity symptoms.

DID YOU KNOW?: The UK’s Electromagnetic Radiation Research Trust recently launched a public education campaign urging men not to carry mobile phones in front pockets next to their testicles.

 What is geopathic stress?

geopathic-stress1

Geopathic stress (GS) occures where the Earth’s electromagnetic field becomes distorted. The Earth resonates with an electromagnetic frequency of approximately 7.83 Hz – Schumann resonances (SR), which falls within the range of (alpha) human brainwaves. Underground streams, sewers, water pipes, electricity, tunnels and underground railways, mineral formations and geological faults distort the natural resonance of the Earth thus creating geopathic stress.

What is EMR (ElectroMagnetic Radiation)?

Electromagnetic radiation (EMR) or sometimes called electrosmog or electrostress is generated by most electrical appliances, electrical cables, transformers, hair dryers, electrical shavers, microwaves, mobile masts, cordless telephones and mobile phones.

It is not easy to tell if the levels of electro smog around you are affecting you.  Your long-term health and well-being may be at risk. Electro smog given off by devices and appliances in your home or at your workplace could be harmful to your health.

What Are Electromagnetic Fields?

emf

Electromagnetic fields (or sometimes called electrosmog or electrostress) are areas of energy that surround electronic devices. The World Health Organization (WHO) explains that the electric fields are created by differences in voltage and magnetic fields are created when the electric current flows. According to WHO, the effects of electromagnetic radiation are huge! The electromagnetic fields affect us because our human bodies have their own electric and biochemical responses (e.g., nervous system, digestion, brain function, heart function). So exposure to EMFs can interact with your body in adverse.

Where Do Electromagnetic Fields Come From?

Simply put, EMFs come from electricity:

  • In your home – DECT cordless phones, hairdryers, vacuums, refrigerators, microwave ovens, irons, televisions (the flat panel TVs are much better than the old box-style TVs), main ring and lighting circuits, dimmer switches, electric blankets, electric razors, electric toothbrushes, WiFi, etc.
  • In your office – computers, fluorescent or halogen lighting, fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, cell phones and WiFi.
  • Outside – power lines (high voltage cables either overhead or buried in the ground), transformers (the gray cylinders raised up on poles that look like trash cans), electrical substations, cell phone towers, cities that provide citywide wireless Internet (WiFi) and electromagnetic radiation from near neighbors’ electronic equipment.
  • Airplanes – Several airlines, such as AirTran, are introducing Wi-Fi on planes, for all of their flights. Did you know that Wi-Fi on planes (and on the ground) emits electromagnetic fields (EMFs) that can negatively affect people, especially those with low immunity?

Most of our modern-day conveniences emit EMFs, some stronger than others. So does this mean you have to go off the grid?

Not at all! But if you are serious about achieving and maintaining your best health, there are several steps you can take to minimize the effect EMFs and reduce the electrosensitivity symptoms on you and your family.

Few Informal Precautionary Guidelines

For EMF Protection

  • Reduce your exposure to electromagnetic radiation by increasing your distance
  • Limit exposure to microwave ovens radiation and even better remove it from your house altogether
  • If it doesn’t need to be turned on, switch it off (cell phones & Wi-Fi router). I-phones can be used on airplane mode. Instead of Wifi use Lan cable connection or simply use Powerline Adaptors which allows you to transfer the internet in every room through your house’s electricity circuit.
  • Use an air tube headset when possible, avoid Bluetooth or wired headset
  • When dialling out do not put your cell phone next to your ear until your correspondent has picked up the communication
  • When dialling out do not put your cell phone next to your ear until your correspondent has picked up the communication
  • Make sure you use your phone only in conditions of optimum reception
  • Do not allow children to use a cell phone for calling
  • Cordless land lines have the potential to emit EMFs as strong as six volts per meter. Not only are you in danger of over-exposure to EMFs while you are actively talking on the phone, but cordless phones are also able to release EMFs into your home even when they are simply sitting in the cradle. Regardless if your cordless phone is charging or not, it can unleash dangerous EMFs into your home without even being in use.
  • Avoid using/working with  laptops and  electronic devices on your laps
  • Mobile phone masts. Go to www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk  and put your postcode in the box. Your street will come up with the location of all the near-by mobile phone masts marked as blue triangles

For Geopathic Stress Protection

  • Reposition Your Furniture. If your bed, your desk or your living room furniture (where you tend to spend a lot of time) happens to be in a geopathic stress area, you need to reposition it.

For Dirty Electricity Protection

  •  Change all CFLs to candescent or LED bulbs
  • Keep a good distance away from wiring and other sources of dirty electricity
  • Limit the use of “dirty electricity appliances”
  • Replace unsafe electrical devices with safer alternatives
  • Avoid electric under floor heating wherever possible
  •  Switch off/unplug any unused devices
  • Check your house’s wiring with an electrician if it has been over 10-15 years since the last time it was wired or checked especially the fuse board.

 1.        Reduce your exposure to Electromagnetic Fields (EMF)

There is hardly any secret that reducing the electrosensitivity symptom is the most challenging part of Creating Healthy Home….

So, what’s EMF? Each and every day, your body is exposed to electromagnetic fields (EMF). Cell phones, satellites, radio stations, hair dryers, microwaves, music players, computers, power grids, gaming consoles, and body-worn electronics are all sources of EMF and, over time, we are exposed to a vast amount of these signals. To protect yourself from electro-smog, use EMF protection devices, which can help limit your body’s exposure to EMF and to reduce the electromagnetic sensitivity symptoms as well as its associated risks. As a result, you may feel more energised, focused, or even have a greater sense of well-being.

 2.      Decrease your home for electric pollution

Electrical pollution, otherwise known as dirty electricity is a term used to describe a type of electrical phenomenon occurring worldwide. Electrical pollution is not something you can see, smell, taste, or touch. It is not something you can sense, making it difficult for one to be aware of the presence of electrical pollution. With this in mind, it is important to understand what causes electrical pollution and what to look for in your everyday environment and home.

Many people complain about a variety of side effects to dirty power, these can include headaches, ringing in the ears, trouble focusing, and a variety of other symptoms.
Electrical pollution can be controlled with special filters.

 3.      Protect your home from Geopathic Stress and from the effects of electromagnetic radiation

What is Geopathic Stress? Geopathic stress – or harmful earth rays – is natural radiation that rises up through the earth and is distorted by weak electromagnetic fields created by underground streams, certain mineral concentrations and fault lines. The wavelengths of the disturbed natural radiation can seriously affect our health, causing cancer, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME), infertility and miscarriage. While we are asleep, our body should be resting so it can repair body cells, fight infections and absorb nutrients from food. However, if we sleep in an area affected by geopathic stress, our body has to use all its energy just to keep vital organs going. As a result, our immune system becomes weakened, which means that it doesn’t absorb nutrients or fight off infections effectively. We offer different equipment to help you to improve the areas in your house which are affected by geopathic stress or electro pollution. We also offer an independent assessment of your house/office.

 4.      Improve your Water Quality

If our municipal drinking water were pure, it would still contain chlorine and chlorine by-products. These chemicals have been associated with cardiac concerns as well as linked to increased risk for cancer of the bladder. But there is more than chlorine. There can be dissolved heavy metals in drinking water, from several potential sources, including older fixtures, plumbing pipes, and lead solder, as well as coming in from sources upstream of your home. There can be parasites and bacteria, even bacteria that live in rough areas of your own water pipes and which chlorine does not kill.

Good hydration is vitally important if we are to enjoy optimum health. We believe that drinking alkaline ionised water is beneficial for everyone.

 5.      Improve your indoor Air Quality

Most people spend as much as 90 percent of their time indoors.

But indoor air quality can be up to five times worse than outdoor air, which can have a very detrimental impact on your health.

Poor indoor air quality can cause or exacerbate:

  • Asthma, allergies, and other respiratory problems
  • Headaches
  • Eye and skin irritations
  • Sore throat, colds and flu
  • Memory loss, dizziness, fatigue and depression
  • Long-term effects from exposure to toxic airborne particles include heart disease, respiratory disease, reproductive disorders, sterility and even cancer.

Whether you want to eliminate impurities in the air (such as pollen, smoke and dust) or want to maintain optimum humidity levels in your home, there are various products to help you do this. Air purifiers can play an important role in improving the air quality in your home and office.

 6.      Use non-toxic cleaning products.

The conventional cleaning supplies under your sink — with their “warning” and “poison” labels — contain a potent mix of chemicals.

“If you’ve ever mopped with ammonia, you know how your lungs constrict,” says Lunder. “These chemicals have a very powerful effect on kids.

Look for “green” cleaners that don’t contain chlorine or ammonia. Choose ones that say “petroleum-free,” “biodegradable,” or “phosphate-free.”

Or make a cleaning products yourself.

Home-brew suggestions:

Use vinegar instead of bleach, baking soda to scrub your tiles, and hydrogen peroxide to remove stains.

Vinegar also removes grease and soap buildup.

GEOPATHIC STRESS & EMR (ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION)
has been found to be the common factor in most serious and long-term illnesses and psychological conditions.

 geopathic-stress1

How do geopathic stress and electromagnetic radiation affect us?
We are now living in an environment where we are being bombarded with electromagnetic frequencies our bodies are not adapted to. Human bodies operate according to very complex electrochemical processes, which can be very easily disturbed by electromagnetic radiation and geopathic stress, which lower our immune system.

Geopathic stress and electro-smog have been found to be a common factor in many serious and long standing illnesses such as cancer, ME, sleep problems, cot deaths, fatigue, difficulty conceiving, learning difficulties and psychological conditions. For example, cancer as a disease of location has now become widely accepted amongst cancer specialists in Germany and other countries. “According to studies I have initiated, at least 92% of all cancer patients I have examined have remained for long periods of time, especially in respect of their sleeping place, in geopathically stressed zones.” Dr Hans Nieper, Cancer Specialist

What is geopathic stress?

What Are Electromagnetic Fields?

Electromagnetic fields (or sometimes called electrosmog or electrostress) are areas of energy that surround electronic devices. The World Health Organization (WHO) explains that the electric fields are created by differences in voltage and magnetic fields are created when the electric current flows.3
According to WHO, electromagnetic fields affect us because our human bodies have their own electric and biochemical responses (e.g., nervous system, digestion, brain function, heart function). So exposure to EMFs can interact with your body in adverse ways.

  • AirplanesSeveral airlines, such as AirTran, are introducing Wi-Fi on planes, for all of their flights. Did you know that Wi-Fi on planes (and on the ground) emits electromagnetic fields (EMFs) that can negatively affect people, especially those with low immunity?

Most of our modern-day conveniences emit EMFs, some stronger than others. So does this mean you have to go off the grid?

Not at all! But if you are serious about achieving and maintaining your best health, there are several steps you can take to minimize the effect EMFs have on you and your family.

Why can the radiation from mobile phones and computer VDU monitors be harmful?

Electromagnetic fields (EMF) play an essential role in the control of the biological activities of a human being.  Our natural state of good health and feeling of well being prevails when our biological activity is in balance.

The penetrative nature of electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones and computer VDUs can intrude and disturb the human EMF and create a biological imbalance that interferes with the body’s natural equilibrium.  As a result, we may experience poor health and potential breakdown of immune response.  At first, we are likely to notice such symptoms fatigue, lack of concentration, headaches, short-term memory loss, distorted vision, confusion and loss of strength.

European Parliament Recommends Stricter Safety Limits for Cell Phones & EMF’S

NY, Sep 18, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) — The European Parliament has voted 522 to 16 to recommend tighter safety standards for cell phones. In light of the growing body of scientific evidence implicating cell phone use with brain tumors, the Parliament says, “The limits on exposure to electromagnetic fields [EMFs] which have been set for the general public are obsolete.”

The European Parliament “is greatly concerned at the Bio-Initiative international report concerning EMFs, which summarises over 1500 studies on that topic and which points in its conclusions to the health risks posed by emissions from mobile-telephony devices such as mobile telephones, UMTS, WiFi, WiMax and Bluetooth, and also DECT landline telephones.” Further, it points out the need to “address vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, newborn babies and children.”

The Mid-Term Review of the European Environmental and Health Action Plan recommends 36 specific points for improving human health. It points to changes that can improve air and water quality, and reduce exposures to toxic chemicals and EMFs that have been linked to health risks.

BioInitiative author Dr. Martin Blank, Columbia University professor and researcher in bioelectromagnetics says, “Cells in the body react to EMFs as potentially harmful, just like to other environmental toxins such as heavy metals and toxic chemicals. The DNA in living cells recognizes EMFs at very low levels of exposure, and produces a biochemical stress response. The scientific evidence tells us that our safety standards are inadequate, and that we must protect ourselves from exposure to EMFs due to powerlines, cell phones and the like.”

Lennart Hardell, MD, PhD and Professor at University Hospital in Orebro, Sweden who wrote on brain tumors and cell phones in the BioInitiative Report, says, “The evidence for risks from prolonged cell phone and cordless phone use is quite strong when you look at people who have used these devices for 10 years or longer, and when they are used mainly on one side of the head.” At a conference in London last week, Dr. Hardell noted that exposure to children poses even greater risk than to adults, a fact of concern since so many children now regularly use cell phones.

Noting the already lowered exposure limits of some European countries the EU Parliament is now calling on the EU Council to amend Recommendation 1999/519/EC for all equipment producing emissions in the 0.1 MHz to 300 GHz frequency range. This would include cell phones as well as other wireless devices. Wireless technologies that rely on microwave radiation to send emails and voice communication are thousands of times stronger than levels reported to cause some health impacts.
