Are you tired of feeling bloated, sluggish, or dealing with headaches after every meal? You might be experiencing food intolerances, and it’s time to take control of your health. At Total Health Now Clinic, we understand how food intolerances can impact your daily life. That’s why we offer a comprehensive Food Intolerance Programme to help you discover and eliminate hidden intolerances.

Discovering Whether You’re Intolerant

Food intolerances can manifest in various symptoms, especially digestive problems like bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps. These symptoms may also be accompanied by mental and physical issues such as mood changes, chronic fatigue, depression, increased appetite, sleepiness after meals, and difficulty concentrating. You may react to certain foods if you resonate with four or more of these symptoms.

Food Intolerance Testing

The most effective way to determine your food intolerances is through quantitative IgG testing. This type of test identifies which foods you’re intolerant to and assesses the strength of your reaction. While minor intolerances may not significantly impact your health, stronger ones can lead to various problems, including weight gain. Home test kits for food intolerances are readily available, and our Health Practitioners can provide you with more information on how to get started.

Top Common Food Intolerances

Some of the most common food intolerances include cow’s milk, yeast, eggs, wheat, and gluten. Identifying and addressing these intolerances can significantly improve your overall well-being and quality of life.

Your Instant Food Intolerance Check

To get a quick assessment of your potential food intolerances, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Can you gain weight in hours?
  • Do you get bloated after eating?
  • Do you suffer from diarrhoea or constipation?
  • Do you experience abdominal pain?
  • Do you feel excessively sleepy after meals?
  • Do you suffer from hay fever or other allergies?
  • Do you experience rashes, itching, asthma, or shortness of breath?
  • Do you retain water?
  • Do you frequently experience headaches?
  • Do you have other aches or pains, particularly after consuming certain foods?
  • Do you feel better on holiday abroad and have a different diet?

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to several of these questions, it’s time to take action and address your potential food intolerances. Don’t let these symptoms hold you back from living your best life. Contact Total Health Now Clinic today to learn more about our Food Intolerance Programme and take the first step towards better digestive health.

Additional Information

One in three people have hidden food intolerances, which often cause unexplained weight gain through fluid retention. If you are one of them, you need to find out what you are intolerant to and which foods to eat instead. You can ‘desensitise’ yourself from foods that cause intolerance and then re-introduce them three months later (although you cannot do this for foods that cause an IgE / anaphylactic response). You should never eat any food that causes an allergic response.

The best way to find out what you are intolerant to is to have a quantitative IgG test. ‘Quantitative’ means the test shows whether you are narrow-minded and how firm your reaction is. Many of us live pretty healthily with minor food intolerances, but stronger ones can create many problems, especially weight gain. Home test kits for food intolerances are available, or you can speak to your health practitioner for more information.
