Ingredients:
50g quinoa
1?2 tsp ground cinnamon
1?2 tsp ground ginger
150ml unsweetened almond milk
50ml water
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 small pear, chopped and cored
4-5 pecans
Sprinkle of salt
Vanilla protein powder (optional)
Method:
- Rinse the quinoa and place in a saucepan with the cinnamon, almond milk, water, vanilla, salt and pear over medium heat.
- Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer until the porridge thickens and the quinoa softens. This usually takes around 15-25 minutes.
- Add more water if needed. Stir occasionally to stop the quinoa from sticking to the pan.
- Once cooked, place in a bowl and stir in the vanilla protein powder if adding. Top with pecans.
