Fusion of the Five Elements (I, II & III),Lesser & Greater Kan and Li with Andrew Jan, PhD
Join Andrew Jan, PhD—renowned author, senior Universal Healing Tao instructor, and international teacher of Taoist alchemical meditation and your host Kostas Kapelas, MSc, head practitioner at Total Health Now Clinic—for a transformative six-day immersion into the advanced inner practices of Taoist spiritual cultivation.
Both the Fusion and Kan and Li series will be conducted in natural light, with the option of using eye masks to deepen the inner experience. These are also ideal practices for cultivation in darkness. Darkroom practice revives the ancient Taoist tradition of reclusion in mountain caves, where adepts withdrew from external stimuli to refine essence, energy, and spirit. Immersion in darkness accelerates the alchemical process, supporting rapid evolution through the inner cauldrons toward spirit flight and the direct experience of Wuji—the infinite nothingness from which all creation arises.
Day 1 - Fusion of the Five Elements I on the 12th May
Begin your journey into Taoist internal alchemy. Learn to transform emotional energy by turning the senses inward and accessing the Mysterious Pass (玄关) through:
• Cultivating the Eight Forces: Water, Fire, Thunder, Lake, Earth, Mountain, Wind, and Heaven
• Blending the Five Elements: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal
• Navigating the final polarity within the lower elixir field through the Father–Child principle, returning to Oneness.
Day 2 - Fusion II on the 13th May
Open the Thrusting and Belt Channels, initiating sage-like transformation.
This stage emphasizes:
• Development of compassion and virtue by integrating organ energies
• Practice of the Mother–Child principle to unite all the virtues of the Five Zang (solid organs)
Day 3 - Fusion III on the 14th May
Complete the activation of the Eight Extraordinary Psychic Meridians:
• Yin Wei, Yang Wei, Yin Heel, and Yang Heel (Opening the Bridge and Regulator Channels)
• Learn to resolve the past, inhabit your path with integrity, and embody stillness
• Apply secret Taoist formulas to dissolve residual tension and prepare the body for Kan and Li
Day 4 - Rest Day on the 15th May
Day 4 of the course will be a scheduled rest day, allowing participants time to relax, recharge, and integrate what they have learned so far before continuing with the remaining sessions.
Day 5 on the 16th May
Using the lower Tan Tien cauldron: Purify the hollow and solid organs, dissolve internal blockages, and open the organ meridians and ultimately dissolve the physical body.
Heal the organs through the emotional layer and delve into the totem animal, virgin child and souls/spirits underneath.
Prepare the merging of the souls and spirits to form the spiritual body (Foetus)
Day 6 - 7 Greater Kan and Li (大坎离) on the 17th–18th May
Enter deep spiritual practice:
• Use the solar plexus cauldron to transcend bodily identity
• Initiate spirit-body separation and ecstatic union with the cosmos
• Expand the mind beyond form into planetary consciousness
Please note:
The retreat will be limited to about 25 in-person attendees, and we will allocate places on a first-come, first-served basis.
The retreat also includes a couple of online sessions, a “Meet and Greet” before the retreat and a “Reunion” session afterwards.

Kostas Kapelas, Co-Founder and Head Practitioner at Total Health Now Clinic®️, has a deep connection to Samothraki, having explored the island extensively. He is also developing a permanent wellness centre there, making this retreat part of a broader mission to promote healing and wellbeing.

Please note that retreat prices are separate from accommodation costs. We have partnered with a lovely hotel where the event will be hosted, offering convenient access and comfort during your stay. The room rates are €60 per night for a double bedroom with breakfast for two people, or €50 per night for single occupancy with breakfast.

Getting to Samothraki
The island is reached via a ferry from Alexandroupoli (about 2 hours). Alexandroupoli is easily accessible by plane from Athens, or by bus or train from Thessaloniki. It is also possible to arrive from Istanbul, though please note this route may take longer due to border control procedures.. Once on Samothraki, local transport and taxis can take you to the retreat.
